What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a safe (provided the person performing it is properly trained) and highly effective advanced physical exfoliation procedure.
Dermaplaning is also excellent to rid the face of excess fine hairs which can often accumulate dirt and oil. Contrary to popular belief, vellus hairs, as opposed to terminal hair, will not grow back thicker or darker. Exfoliation of dead cells along with the removal of fine hairs results in healthier, brighter skin that has a smoother look and feel.
At Ever After we perform Dermapaling alongside a prescriptive facial which will leave your skin cleaner, smoother & more hydrated than EVER!
How does it work?
Using a sterile, surgical scalpel to gently remove the skin's surface, removing the top-most layer of dead skin along with fine, vellus hair (aka peach fuzz). The procedure can be performed monthly, with no downtime post-treatment. Dermaplaning is only performed on the face; however, it is not meant to be used to shape eyebrows, which are made up of "terminal" (not vellus) hairs. The nose is also avoided.
Removing up to 4 weeks worth of dead skin cells
Does it Hurt?
No, most clients find it very relaxing! Your skin may feel tight or dry during treatment, that is normal. You may experience minor stinging when products are applied post treatment as the skin will feel a little more sensitive
What happens after treatment?
You can carry on with your day as normal, however it is very important to follow our after-care recommendations.
What are the possible side effects?
Redness & sensitization are the most common side effects reported. Your skin will be more vulnerable following treatment & more sensitive to the elements but providing you follow your homecare this will go back to normal quickly.
